Scattering Rice Lake

We are home after spending a wonderful week at Scattering Rice Lake in Eagle River, Wisconsin. This is the view from the dock...one doesn't get tired of seeing that a few times a week.

Our visit had to begin with a trip to the grocery store. Ben enjoyed being on top of Gabe's shoulders. (He likes the feel of his hair.)

And this is what we took back to the cottage. Yes, that is four carts for ten people...well, fifteen for a few days and one dog.

Our days would begin around this table...the view is so tranquil. This is the meal Rebekah and Gabe made for us. Somehow we all managed to fit at the same table.

Ben is a trooper and can sleep just about anywhere. (He even fell asleep on his first boat ride!)

The girls enjoy watching a game on the front lawn. Dear friends, from seminary days, joined us with their three daughters for a few days.

Here is a shot of all the kids (and the dog) in birth order. My kids are most of the taller kids.

Yeah, this is a picture of the "older" kids in birth order. (My hubby is the youngest of the group and that is my parents to the left.)

Every trip has to end with a group photo. It is so nice to think we were all there at the same time.

On Monday we all played minature golf and went go carting. If you look carefully you can see many from our group in cars, even my mom. Aaron and Hannah stood on the sidelines with Ben and took pictures. There is just something really fun about driving as fast as you can around turns that make your wheels squeal.

On the last night, before our return home, we visited with my aunt and uncle. I love being with my uncle and seeing his eyes sparkle when he laughs. He reminds me of his dad, my grandpa.

I think this is our last trip to the grocery store. (We only went 5 times in 8 days!) I just love pushing Ben around in these little cars! It always makes me laugh...and he can stand in the seat while he is driving. Quite the talented little fella!

Here's all our kids at the end of a wonderful week.
